New Delhi: The results of the Lok Sabha elections are in front of everyone. This time, due to the excellent performance of the opposition parties, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party could not cross the majority mark on its own. 17 Union Ministers lost the Lok Sabha elections. According to sources, the Modi government has ordered the 17 Union Ministers who lost the Lok Sabha elections to vacate the government bungalow by July 11. In this regard, the   Ministry of Urban Development has issued a notice.

These Union Ministers include RK Singh, Arjun Munda, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Smriti Irani, Sanjeev Baliyan, Rajiv Chandrashekhar, Kailash Chaudhary, Ajay Mishra Teni, V Muralidharan, Nishit Pramanik, Subhash Sarkar, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Raosaheb Danve, Kaushal Kishore, Bhanu Pratap Verma, Kapil Patil, Bhagwant Khuba, Bharti Pawar.

The Union Ministers who lost the Lok Sabha elections and have ties with UP include Mahendra Nath Pandey, Smriti Irani, Sanjeev Balyan, Ajay Mishra Teni, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Kaushal Kishore, Bhanu Pratap Verma.

Why was Smriti Irani’s defeat discussed more?

In 2019, Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi in the Amethi Lok Sabha seat, but in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi family loyalist Kishori Lal Sharma defeated Smriti Irani from the Amethi seat. In the election, Kishori Lal Sharma got 539228 votes while Smriti Irani got 37203 votes. The difference between victory and defeat between Smriti Irani and KL Sharma was 167196 votes.
